Indian Post GDS Recruitment August 2023 | GDS July Result / Merit 2023 – India Post has released a recruitment notification for Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) positions across various postal circles in India. A total of 30,041 vacancies have been announced for the year 2023. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online from 3rd August 2023 on the official website of India Post. The last date to submit the online application is 23rd August 2023.

Selection Process:

The selection will be based on automatic generated merit list as per the rules.

Job Profile:

GDS or Gramin Dak Sevak acts as an extra departmental agent to the post office. Their key role is to deliver mails and take care of postal savings bank work in rural post offices.

Key Duties:

• Door to door delivery and collection of letters and other postal articles.
• Sorting and delivery of the mail.
• Counter duties like savings bank, EPG, RD, etc in branch post offices.
• Delivery of e-commerce parcels.
• Other duties assigned by the Postmaster or ASP.

salary structure for GDS recruits

the starting salary for GDS positions is between Rs 10,000 – Rs 12,000 per month along with allowances based on the post and workload. Annual increments will be provided as per rules.

• BPM (Branch Postmaster) – Rs 12,000 per month
• ABPM (Assistant Branch Postmaster) – Rs 10,000 per month
• Dak Sevak – Rs 10,000 per month
