The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the online registration process for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2024. NEET UG is a common entrance exam for admission to undergraduate medical courses in India including MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BUMS, BSMS, BHMS and BSc Nursing. NEET UG 2024 will be conducted on Sunday, 05 May 2024 in pen and paper mode in 13 languages. The result will be declared on 14 June 2024.

How to Apply

To apply for NEET UG 2024, you need to visit the official website of NEET UG at neet.ntaonline.in and follow the steps given below:

  • Click on the link for NEET UG 2024 registration and provide your name, contact details and other basic information to complete the registration. You will receive a system-generated application number and password on your registered email and mobile number.
  • Log in using the application number and password and fill in the application form with your personal details, educational qualifications, choice of exam center, language and category.
  • Upload the scanned images of your passport size photograph, postcard size photograph, signature, left-hand thumb impression and class 10 certificate as per the prescribed specifications.
  • Make the payment of the application fee through the available online modes and submit the application form. You will receive a confirmation page on your screen and email, which you need to download and print for future reference.

Syllabus and Exam Pattern

The syllabus of NEET UG 2024 has been updated by the National Medical Commission (NMC) with respect to the previous year. The syllabus covers the topics from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) of class 11 and 12. The exam pattern of NEET UG 2024 is as follows:

  • Mode of Exam: Pen and Paper
  • Duration of Exam: 3 hours
  • Number of Questions: 200 (180 to be attempted)
  • Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Marking Scheme: +4 for correct answer, -1 for incorrect answer, 0 for unattempted answer
  • Language of Exam: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu

Eligibility Code For NET UGT
UG NEET Code 01A candidate who is appearing in the qualifying examination, i.e., 12 Standard in 2024 whose result is awaited may apply and take up the said test but he/she shall not be eligible for admission to the MBBS or BDS, if he/she does not pass the qualifying examination with the required pass percentage of marks at the time of first round of Counseling.
NEET UG Code 02The Higher/Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher/Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of such study comprising of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology (which shall include practical tests in these subjects) and Mathematics or any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training after introduction of the 10+2+3 educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education.
UG NEET Code 03The Intermediate/Pre-degree Examination in Science of an Indian University/Board or other recognized examining body with Physics, Chemistry, Biology /Bio-technology (which shall include practical test in these subjects) and also English as a compulsory subject
NEET UG Code 04The Pre-professional/Pre-medical Examination with Physics ,Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology & English after passing either the Higher Secondary Examination or the Pre-University or an equivalent examination. The Pre-professional/Pre-medical examination shall include practical test in these subjects and also English as a compulsory subject.
NEET UG Code 05The first year of the three years’ degree course of a recognized University with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology including practical tests in these subjects provided the examination is a University Examination and candidate has passed the earlier qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-Technology with English at a level not less than a core course.
UG NEET Code 06B.Sc.Examination of an Indian University provided that he/she has passed the B.Sc.Examination with not less than two of the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology)/Bio-technology and further that he/she has passed the earlier qualifying examination with Physics,Chemistry,Biology and English.
NEET UG Code 07Any other examination which in scope and standard (Last 02 years of 10+2 Study comprising of Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology; which shall include practical test in these subjects) is found to be equivalent to the Intermediate Science Examination of an Indian University/Board, taking Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology including practical tests in each of these subjects and English.
Instructions for NEET UG 2024
Aadhar Card is mandatory for all candidates appearing for the All India NTA NEET 2024 examination.
Photo Instructions: Submit a clear passport size (4.5cm x 3.5cm) and 4×6 cm photo with a white background. Write your name and date photo was taken on the back of the printouts.
OBC NCL Certificate issued between 01 April 2023 and 31 March 2024 will be considered valid.
SC/ST/GEN-EWS certificates issued on or after 01 April 2023 will be considered valid.
