The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) twice a year, usually in July and December. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the CTET July 2023 was postponed and rescheduled to January 2024. The CTET January 2024 will be the 18th edition of the exam, which is a mandatory qualification for those who want to teach students from class I to VIII in government or private schools.

How to apply for CTET January 2024?

The online application process for CTET January 2024 started on 03-Nov-2023 and ended on 01-Dec-2023 (extended from 27-Nov-2023). The candidates who completed the online application process and paid the fee on first come first served basis were allotted the examination city of their choice as per availability in that particular city. The online correction window was open from 04-Dec-2023 to 08-Dec-2023, where the candidates could edit their personal details, exam paper, exam city etc. The application fee for CTET January 2024 was Rs. 1000 for one paper and Rs. 1200 for both papers for general and OBC candidates and Rs. 500 for one paper and Rs. 600 for both papers for SC, ST and PwD candidates.

How to check the CTET January 2024 exam city and date information?

CBSE has released the CTET January 2024 exam city information slip on 12-Jan-2024. The slip contains information about the exam city for candidates appearing for the CTET January 2024 exam. The candidates can download their exam city slips from the official website of CTET by entering their application number and date of birth. The exam city slip will help the candidates to plan their travel and accommodation arrangements in advance. The candidates should note that the exam city slip and the admit card are different documents and they should not confuse them.

Validity Period of CTET Certificate

  • The validity period of the CTET qualifying certificate for appointment will be lifetime for all categories.
  • There is no restriction on the number of attempts a person can take to acquire the CTET certificate. A person who has qualified CTET may also appear again to improve their score.

Primary Stage (Class I to V)

  • Senior Secondary OR (Its Equivalent) with At Least 50% Marks & Passed OR Appearing in Final Year Of 2 Year Diploma In Elementary Education.
  • OR Senior Secondary (Its Equivalent) with At Least 45% Marks & Passed OR Appearing in Final Year of 2 Year Diploma in Elementary Education As Per NCTE 2002 Norms OR
  • Senior Secondary OR (Its Equivalent) with At Least 50% Marks & Passed OR Appearing in Final Year of 4 Year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR
  • OR Senior Secondary (Its Equivalent) with At Least 50% Marks & Passed OR Appearing in Final Year Of 2 Year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
  • Graduate & Passed OR Appearing in Final Year Of 2 Year Diploma in Elementary Education
  • OR Bachelor’s Degree with 50% Marks & Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)

Secondary Stage (Class VI to VIII)

  • Bachelor’s Degree & Passed OR Appearing in Final Year of 2 Year Diploma in Elementary Education (By Whatever Name Known) OR
  • Graduation with 50% Marks & Passed OR Appearing in 1 Year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) OR
  • Graduation with 45% Marks & Passed OR Appearing in 1 Year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Accordance with the NCTE Norms OR
  • Senior Secondary OR (Its Equivalent) with At Least 50% Marks & Passed OR Appearing in Final Year of 4 Year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR
